5 Essentials for Your Escape to Paradise

Heading down south or planning your escape to paradise? We picked out some essentials to help you narrow down your packing checklist!

  1. Sun Protection

One of the most important elements for any sunshine getaway is none other than sun protection! This means everything from a good sunscreen to floppy hats, a fun pair of sunglasses and even hair protectant! Yes, even your hair needs protections from all that harsh sunlight.  LipHip1We recommend: Lip Hop Sun Protection that is high in antioxidants to avoid skin damage from free radicals.

  1. After Sun Care

One of the most highly overlooked aspects of a summer holiday. After a fun day out in the sun, even with all that protection, your skin and hair will still need that extra little pampering. It’s always good to rehydrate and we recommend bringing a light oil like argan or jojoba, as it can be used for both the skin and hair! Remember to also pack some aloe vera or a soothing lotion in case you accidentally get sun burnt!

AloeVeraWe recommend: Guardian Aloe Vera Gel that contains 100% pure aloe vera to help retain moisture.

  1. Swimwear

Even if you’re not headed for the seaside, it never hurts to bring an extra piece of swimwear! You never know when you might need one! There could be a gorgeous pool at your hotel, or even a hidden lake on one of your excursions!

  1. Light Clothing and Sandals

Islandic or beach getaways almost always spell heat and perspiration! So pack light with some flowy chiffon, shorts, airy skirts and casual t-shirts. Bring an extra light cardigan, as you never know how low temperatures can dip once the sun begins to set.

Sandals or a pair of slippers are also a must, especially when the heat starts to become unbearable or you decide to head somewhere closer to a water source. Wet shoes are never fun and can be a big damper on your holiday, especially if they happen to be a pricey pair.

  1. Portable Entertainment

Don’t forget some portable entertainment like books or some music for that long plane ride or drive. They also come in handy when you’re lazing around a beach, or just chilling by a park bench. If you never had time for them at home, a holiday is a great time to catch up on simple pleasures like this, and it’s a great way to help further de-stress.

We hope you enjoy your getaway to sunny paradise! :)
