EMILY QUAK: DR. MORITA REVIEW
Hi guys! Today I’m sharing with you a review of the Dr, Morita masks, it is made in Taiwan and available exclusively at Guardian pharmacies here in Malaysia.
For those of you who don’t already know, Dr Morita is a skincare brand well-known throughout Taiwan and Hong Kong for high-quality, medical grade, well-performing facial masks. It was also the which was the official facial mask in the 2014 Miss Hong Kong Pageant.
I was, of course, dying to try these out. They came at the perfect time too, as my husband and I are both breaking out at the moment! We received 4 masks in total, and took it upon ourselves to try 2 masks each over the period of 4 days. I’ll share the mask names, and our opinions, below:
The texture of these creams are gel-like and very light.
Snail Essence Watery Cream
I made Jas try this (his skin was, in particular, quite stressed and red from breakouts and sensitivity) because I knew his skin needed a bit of TLC. The snail essence is meant to calm the skin and provide intense moisture. As readers of my blog will know, skin hydration is an essential factor in preventing acne, so I wanted to give Jas’ skin a big boost of hydration to calm his acne and prevent any further breakouts.
It worked like a charm! The next morning, his skin was no longer flaky, and more importantly, his acne had reduced in size and redness!
Hyaluronic Essence Watery Cream
Easy to apply and comes with a spoon to help keep the mask hygienic.
I tried this on the same night that Jas tried the snail essence mask, and I have to say, I really love this one. It provides a big boost of hydration without feeling oily or slimy, and it absorbed into my skin really easily. I woke up with smooth, bouncy skin. I would highly recommend using this as a quick mask right before makeup, because I was extremely impressed with the smoothness of my skin after wearing this. I can just imagine makeup gliding on after this mask!
The next two are my personal preferences with masks, as they are in sheet form, and are made of high-quality materials that help the product absorb into the skin.
Glacial Clay Seaweed Moisturizing Facial Mask
Jas was intrigued by the colour and texture of this mask – exactly like seaweed!
This was my favourite of the lot! This mask contains clay and seaweed as its main ingredients – to draw impurities to the surface and to purify and hydrate the skin. It also contains hydrating and soothing components, so really, this is an all-in-one kind of mask, and I loved using it! This is the kind of mask that I would apply on a weekly basis for maintenance and upkeep – I love this for my oily/combination, congested skin!
Pearl Whitening Facial Mask
Applying the mask for Jas because he has no idea how to apply masks.
As with all people who aren’t fans of fair skin, Jas was hesitant about trying this mask. I finally managed to convince him that it would be good for his acne scars, and he relented. He loved the scent and feel of the mask, and we could see an improvement in his skin, especially in the areas where he was dry and breaking out. His skin was also more radiant and glowy, which I really liked!
Letting our masks do the work whilst we relaxed.
Overall I could see a marked improvement in our skins when we tried these masks, and I do believe they’re great quality, particularly for their price point. If you’d like to try these masks out for yourselves, they are exclusive to Guardian pharmacies here in Malaysia. Try them out and let me know what you think!
